Mental Health – Your amazing power! Your Word Is Your Wand! Mental Health Monday!:
Florence Scovil Shinn was an amazing lady. She was a spiritual teacher back in the 1930’s. She is one of my my most beloved teachers, and like me, was an internationally recognized artist and mental health teacher.

Greetings, my dear friends! On a rather cloudy, but productive afternoon in Scotland, I am writing this to you.
Today, I want to share with you some powerful insights about the impact of your thoughts and words on your reality. As Florence Scovel Shinn once said, “Your word is your wand,” and indeed, your thoughts and words have the power to shape your life.
Many of us go through life without realizing the impact of our thoughts and words. We may complain about our circumstances, criticize ourselves and others, and dwell on negative thoughts. However, these negative thoughts and words only serve to attract more negativity into our lives.
Instead, we must learn to mind our thoughts and words, and consciously choose to focus on positivity and abundance. We must believe in the power of the universe to bring us what we desire, and trust that our thoughts and words are the key to unlocking this power.
The Power of Affirmations:
In my book ‘the battles we all face (Available by clicking this link) I talk extensively about the power of your thoughts. Imagine your mind as an empty, lush and ready mud box of a garden. Whatever you sow in their IS going to manifest something. Good or bad, and YOU choose what it is.
One way to mind your thoughts and words is through the use of affirmations. Affirmations are positive statements that we repeat to ourselves, which help to reprogram our subconscious minds and create new thought patterns.
For example, you could say, “I am worthy of love and abundance,” or “I am capable of achieving my dreams.” When you repeat these affirmations regularly, you begin to shift your mindset from one of lack and negativity to one of positivity and abundance.
You begin to attract more positivity into your life, and you start to see opportunities and possibilities that you may have missed before. As Florence Scovel Shinn once said, “The affirmation is a positive statement of Truth, which, when spoken with faith, is instantly felt by the subconscious.”
The key to using affirmations effectively is to repeat them regularly, with faith and conviction. You must truly believe in the power of your affirmations, and trust that they are already true in your reality.
For example, if you are struggling with self-doubt, you could repeat the affirmation, “I am confident and capable in all that I do.” When you say this affirmation, you must truly believe that you are confident and capable, even if you don’t feel that way yet.
Over time, your subconscious mind will begin to accept this affirmation as true, and you will naturally begin to feel more confident and capable in your life.
Mental health – The Power of Gratitude
Another way to mind your thoughts and words is through the practice of gratitude. When we focus on what we are grateful for, we attract more things to be grateful for. We begin to see the abundance in our lives, rather than focusing on what we lack.
As Florence Scovel Shinn once said, “When we are grateful, we open the doors to all of the good things in our lives.” Gratitude is a powerful tool for attracting positivity into your life, and it is a simple practice that anyone can do.
To practice gratitude, simply take a few moments each day to think about what you are grateful for. You could write down a list of things that you appreciate, or simply say them out loud.
Some examples of things to be grateful for include:
- Your health and wellbeing
- Your family and friends
- Your job or career
- Your home and living situation
- The beauty of nature
- The opportunities in your life
When you focus on gratitude, you begin to shift your mindset from one of lack and negativity to one of abundance and positivity. You start to see the good things in your life, and you attract more good things to be grateful for.
Mental health The Power of Visualization
What you think will become your reality. It takes 0.009 of a second to go from thinking to acting. This is why you must train your mind, and train it well.
Another powerful tool for minding your thoughts and words is visualization. Visualization is the process of creating a mental image of what you want to manifest in your life.
As Florence Scovel Shinn once said, “The imagination is the workshop of the mind.” When you use your imagination to visualize what you want to manifest,
you create a clear picture in your mind of what you want to achieve. This helps to align your thoughts and actions with your goals, and it also sends a powerful message to the universe that you are ready to receive what you desire.
To use visualization effectively, it is important to create a clear and detailed image in your mind of what you want to manifest. You could use a vision board to help you visualize your goals, or simply close your eyes and imagine yourself living the life that you desire.
For example, if you want to manifest a new job, you could visualize yourself in your new workplace, interacting with your new colleagues, and feeling fulfilled and happy in your new role. When you visualize this scenario, you create a powerful energy that attracts opportunities and possibilities into your life.
The key to using visualization effectively is to practice it regularly, and to truly believe in the power of your imagination to create your reality. When you trust that the universe is conspiring to bring you what you desire, you become a magnet for abundance and positivity.
The Power of Your Words
Finally, it is important to be mindful of the words that you use in your everyday life. Your words have the power to create your reality, and they also have the power to impact the people around you.
As Florence Scovel Shinn once said, “Words are the most powerful tool you possess.” When you speak positively and with intention, you create a positive energy that uplifts and inspires others. Conversely, when you speak negatively or with judgment, you create a negative energy that can bring others down.
To mind your words, it is important to pay attention to the language that you use when speaking to yourself and others. Avoid negative self-talk and criticism, and instead focus on words of encouragement and empowerment.
For example, instead of saying, “I can’t do this,” say, “I am capable of doing anything that I set my mind to.” Instead of criticizing others, focus on uplifting and inspiring them with your words.
Part 2
When you speak positively and with intention, you create a powerful energy that attracts positivity and abundance into your mental health. Your words have the power to shape your reality, and they also have the power to impact the world around you.
In conclusion, your thoughts and words have the power to shape your reality. When you mind your thoughts and words, you become a magnet for positivity and abundance. By using affirmations, gratitude, visualization, and positive language, you can create a life that is filled with joy, fulfillment, and abundance.
As Florence Scovel Shinn once said, “Your word is your wand.” Use your words wisely, my dear friends, and watch as your reality transforms before your very eyes.
