Every painting is special. Some, however, are really incredible. This painting was one of those amazing moments in time where everything was perfect.
From the client’s positive attitude and excitement, the photos supplied for me to work from the way that the paint flowed and covered the canvas and the final effect of the finished painting.
I still look back all these years later and smile when I see this stunning 16×20 sized painting. Everything about that day really was perfect.

Getting into mischeif
It is said that a photo speaks of 1000 words. I want to ask you what do you think this painting is saying?
I remember this painting well and remember the reference photo. Thinking to myself… “This is a rare moment in time where they weren’t fighting, annoying their sister, or finding mischief to explore.
This painting really does capture in a single moment and a smile on just how mischievous these two wonderful boys could be.
The smile gives them away. I smile as I write this and reminisce over this painting.
The love of siblings
I love this painting.
Alan Christie – who commissioned it told me this was simply one of his most favorite works that I had done. Alan wanted a really special and large painting of his grandchildren (20×30 inch). He approached me with this amazing idea.
I fell in love with the idea, photo, and concept. There is very little I can see about this painting as I believe it says everything needed. The love the sister has for the brother, the beautiful ginger hair, the warmth of the painting, and the simplicity of the background.
A very wonderful painting and a very happy ending.
