Details: This painting draws its inspiration from the southern seas and Hawaiian climates of the west. The tranquil oceans, hot sands and beautiful colour filled sunsets are just some of the wonderful elements which went into the inspiration behind this painting.

During a holiday to the Hawaiian island of Kona, a close friend of John’s sent him a beautiful photo of a scene not entirely dissimilar of the image which you see in this painting. Inspired, John captured and set about creating his own interpretation of that magnificent night. Although never having stepped foot on Hawaiian sands, John’s wonderful imagination was able to imagine himself being there. Thus, the painting which you see before you is the artwork which materialised.
